Giving Back
Our hearts are full of gratitude for all the love and support we receive from friends, listeners, and our Olympia family, and we recognize the importance of giving back to our local community. Waking Bear has committed to donating five percent of our online store profits to Treehouse, a nonprofit dedicated to providing a sense of community and useful resources to foster care children throughout Washington State(based in Seattle)to ensure a successful transition into adulthood.
Why Treehouse? When we learned of the work that this devoted team of people are doing for the well-being of children within the foster care system our hearts were deeply touched and our desire to support their cause was instantaneous. Bringing aide and support to children who are without permanent housing and long-term loved ones to call family is crucial heart-centered work to be doing on the planet. Young hearts need to heal from not receiving the love and attention and care they have needed and deserved throughout their childhood. This organization has seen this need for extra support for children within the foster care system and has responded with a thriving business model which now serves as an example that other communities are striving to emulate nationwide.
